Possible Questions You
Might Have
The first session is an intake. You will be asked many questions about you and your life to help me get to know you better and understand your needs and struggles. I understand this first appointment can be scary, so be assured you only need to share we with what you are comfortable sharing. I look forward to meeting you and working together to help you achieve your goals.
We will work together to determine what is best for you based on the severity of your symptoms. In the beginning it is best to have at least two sessions a month.
Each session is 53 minutes. Self-pay clients may also ask for a 45-minute. session at a reduced rate. Please inquire for rates. Some insurances may also allow for a 45-minute session.
We will meet over a secure telehealth platform. You will be sent a link so you can log into the sight. It is important for you to have a good Internet connection, so you can get the most out of each therapy session. Laptops and Desktop computers work the best.
You are legally and ethically entitled to confidentiality. I will not discuss anything about our sessions with any other parties without your verbal and written consent.
There are some exceptions to confidentiality you need to be aware of. I am a mandatory reporter, which means I am legally required by the state of Utah to report child abuse, elderly abuse, and if you are a threat to yourself or others.
In regards to working with teens, meeting with parents is always part of the deal to help me better understand what is going on at home and school. With this being said, confidentiality is always in place with the few exceptions mentioned above.
